Biography
Dr. Sophia Ambruso joined the Division as an Affiliate Clinical Associate Professor in 2026. She is based at Idaho Nephrology Associates and serves as part of the UW School of Medicine WWAMI faculty. Dr. Ambruso brings a strong commitment to nephrology education and innovation.
Dr. Ambruso is the recipient of the American Society of Nephrology’s William and Sandra Bennett Clinical Scholar Grant, which supported the development of ABC Kidney PhysioSim, an interactive, animated educational platform designed to make kidney physiology more accessible and engaging for students, clinicians, and patients.
